Artists throughout time have likened the body to a building: a space to inhabit and care for. The building, too, is a body--a living system, interdependent, holy. This program, co-presented by historic preservationist, Michael Allen, and Mallory Nezam, yoga instructor and public artist, explores abandoned building sites through the practice of yoga and movement, and seeks to re-empower each space through a tender presence. A brief oral essay introduction to each site will segue into a subsequent yoga practice. Both site and practitioners will leave innervated and intertwined.
