Task: Awarded grant to study community-based art in El Salvador.
Goal: Learn how local art organizations, artists and communities are using art to rebuild community identity/ies after the civil war. Select one community with whom I can share the medium of photography to explore personal perceptions of community. Share findings with academic community.
Investigated community-based art empowerment initiatives in post-civil war El Salvador.
Facilitated student photography project.
Curated photo exhibition in both El Salvador and Los Angeles.
