Our Mirror Casket in Smithsonian National Museum for African American History and Culture

Two weekends ago, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture opened its doors to the public. Three of the 7 creators of the Mirror Casket (myself included), journeyed to D.C. for the grand opening festivities, and a peak into the incredible and unprecedented new museum. The three traveling artists, myself, De Andrea Nichols and Marcis Curtis gave presentations at Georgetown University and Busboys & Poets, and shared the story of the Mirror Casket, as well as other artivism projects that we have grown out of Ferguson.

Learn why Smithsonian Magazine named our piece one of the powerful objects from their collection.
