CAIR Lab Launches: a new tool to advance equity in cities
I combined forces with Amanda Lovelee and Johanna Taylor to create Civic Artists in Residence (CAIR) Lab. CAIR Lab supports artists in residence in government through public speaking, research, and launching new programs all in collaboration with government staff, artists, and communities. We are an interdisciplinary team with professional experience as artists, researchers, arts managers, and government administrators. I'm so excited to be working with these ladies on supporting innovative change in government that enables more creative and equity-centered solutions to our civic challenges.
2 things to celebrate:
We published some preliminary research in the The International City/County Management Association's magazine, entitled A New Tool to Advance Equity: Artists in Residence in Government
We wrote an op-ed for Next City on How Artists Help Build Equitable, Empathetic Infrastructure
